I was super constipated a week ago but successfully cleaned out over a couple days with the help of miralax. Since that clearing out I have had a pressure feeling in my rectum. Like the feeling of something sitting there needing to be pushed out, but nothing is there.
I have dealt with hemorrhoids in the past, but they usually come out and after a couple days with prep h, it is gone and no trouble. This time I have been using prep h, just assuming that's the issue, and it hasn't made a difference. Went to my general dr, and she didn't think she even needed to examine it, just said it truly sounds like an internal hemorrhoid creating swelling and pressure and prescribed me anucort suppositories. I used them yesterday and again today and still not feeling any change. It's worst when I'm sitting, and feels better if I'm moving around.
My stool is plenty soft now, but I have still been increasing fiber and water to ensure it stays soft and doesn't aggravate it. I just haven't ever had this pressure last for so long.
I don't have insurance, so seeking a 2nd opinion right now is just not financially smart. I am supposed to check back in with her in a week. I definitely deal with health anxiety so I'm hyper aware that it's not feeling better and panicking thinking its something worse. IBS has always leaned on the constipated side, and internal hemorrhoids have been seen on my last colonoscopy 4 years ago, so I know they are there, but just anxious for relief and worried about why it's not helping yet.
Any input here? If I'm. It better in 5 days I'm supposed to go back. But should I be seeking a colorectal dr instead of my regular dr?
