my doctor has told me that bloating is caused by gas pockets, some days although i take miralax and it has greatly helped me go almost every day, i still get gasey, has anyone found anything that helps to relief gas pockets ?

Sometimes we get gas from the way we eat. I don't know about
you, but I am a sipper. I sip my soup and I sip on my drinks and that's supposed to be bad; you inhale a lot of extra air that way and it can get trapped down in your stomach and intestines. Straws are a pretty good way to avoid this, provided you don't slurp around with it when you get to the bottom of your drink like a vacuum cleaner!

Gas-X has worked wonders. Peppermint pills too. You can also try taking Beano before you eat, that usually helps too.

bloating can also be caused by bacterial over-growth, a good probiotic will likely help with that.

I use Phyazme or the store brand. The highest simethecone one there is. I think it is possible the Miralax can cause gas but don't know I take a Phazme after every dinner and sometimes lunch. I get a lot of gas pockets that affect my breathing since I have limited lung capacity so I can't handle gas. I also keep Maalox Max and Pepto on hand which help when it is really bad. I am surprised about
the straw as I was told not to use a straw. One thing is cut down on cold drinks. This has made a big difference as cold drinks of anything cause gas. I am a big air swallower. Peppermint works well but it can cause more reflux if that is a problem.

i believe the gas is from IBS.... all the other things may contribute to it.... i had the gas before i started taking the miralax, however the gas really isnt that bad, just sometimes, but i seem to get bloated more at night.... Thanks

You could also try taking some digestive enzyme tablets unless you can handle eating things like pineapple, kiwi, papya, those are all natural digestive enzymes, they help break down your food and normalize bacteria somewhat, helping with bloat as well.
