I've only recently been diagnosed (no tests were done) with IBS.
Raw veggies, fried foods, red meat, caffiene, dairy, chocolate (which makes me so sad!!) and spicy foods do me in. Stress does too. And I'm a type A personality so stress is HUGE for me. I'm still experimenting with foods to see what else works and doesn't. I've found that rice cereals, rice krispie treats, sour dough breads and preztels, chicken, pasta (no heavy tomato or cheesy sauces), turkey, (no processed -- cold cut type meats though), sweet potatoes (baked), white potatoes (baked), and fat free italian dressing are foods I can eat. Makes it hard to cook because I have a growing 15 1/2 year old son who doesn't want blah all the time too. Now I cook two meals (hard on a single parent budget) or I take my chances with what I cook for him. I take a calcium supplement and a fiber supplement as recommended by my doctor who also prescribed an antispasmodic and an anti-anxiety med (that anti-anxiety med makes me stupid though so I don't like to take it unless I have to.) Thanks for letting me ramble...I like that I have found someplace and "someone" who can understand what this is all about
. Oh, and I had my gall bladder out almost 14 years ago. and my son has ADHD and is learning to drive
