OMG , im soo surprised to see that im not the only one with this IBS problems. I though i was crazy or someting to have that my mom even sent me to a psy.I'm currently suposed to go to school and like I cant!! ive been suffering of many IBS symptoms since last year and it worsen this year + since im going to a private school there so much stress its unsuportable mad  . I went to see many doctors their medications didnt help me,then later on they found out i had stones in my galdbladder they though that it caused all these symptoms so i had my operation in january and since then. I cant come back to school cuz my symptoms stayed the same and even worsen a little and i felt hopeless no one  even understand me everyone is pressuring me to come back to school and because of that im in a major depression like im goign crazy in my mond!. Curintly ive seen a Gastrointerologist he sent me doing all those tests and im continuing having them now bbut i have to go back to school in May so i finish my 9 th grade year and im scared to death  to go back cuz i had so much panick attacks like i was scared to have those symtoms in the class and i was too shy to talk about it with someone and im still scared ill have those again.My mom told me that ill go to a public school next year that i just have to finish this year , but its like not enough for me i want to finish by home shcooling and my mom is telling me that its impossible that the private schools dont do that (maybe it is possible do any of you know??). So yeah by the way if someone could help me to solve my problem ill be very relieved..

Welcome to HealingWell!  :-)
Wow, I'm actually surprised you had your gallbladder removed at 15.  That's hardcore.  It's sad because most docs don't warn their patients that their symptoms may not get better, they may even get worse!  You've come to the right place.  We have a few regular members who are without their gallbladders and still dealing with symptoms.  Is your major complaint D?  That seems to be the norm for the gallbladderless.  If you haven't searched around the site yet you might want to.  There are a ton of links about gallbladder issues.  Here are a few that might help:

Umm no i actually have IBS with C and i still always need to go to the bathroom because like i need to empty my stomache or else im rly nauseous but its not always sucessfull..Thx for your links ill go check them up. Oh and by the way i  got my gald bladder removed not just operated.

Constipation can be a side effect of removal of your gall bladder (or even from before it was taken out). Usual laxative remedies, like prune juice, fiber, aloe vera can all be tried. I've also heard about bile salts, which are supposed to replace the bile that you no longer produce. I've only read about them online, and I think you have to order them online, but you may want your mom to check into them for you.

I don't know what kind of private school you are going to, but when I was in private high school, there were a couple of kids who had to do their lessons and work from home. I don't know if they had teacher contact or not, but someone probably did call them and talk to them. I went to a very supportive school. One girl was out for at least a month, I think, though, two or three, with menegitis, and one boy fell off a cliff and was out for a couple of months while his femur repaired a bit. We had one girl, who was a boarding student, who got bit by a copperhead a few weeks before her graduation and she was put on bed rest and took her exams in her dorm room. And after I left, a guy in the class behind me fell off a roof and became paralyzed--I know from the waist down, but I think he was paralyzed in the arms too; I don't think he ended up needing a breathing machine, though. Anyways, they got him through school and he graduated. So, at least in my school, there were a number of kids who got sick or hurt and the school got them through their lessons somehow anyways. It being a private school that you're paying for, they should work with you better than a public school. Do you have any sort of academic advisor or mentor? That would be the person to go to first about your problems. If not, then set up a meeting with your academic dean and tell him/her what your health problems are and see if there's a way to either make going to school easier on you, or find a way so that you can study partly or fully from home.

Next year, if your mom can't afford the school (most private schools have scholarships; be sure to ask before giving up), then you should look into public school and what sorts of homeschooling/tutoring programs they offer for kids who can't go to regular school. I think Lil gave you a link to a discussion we had with another high schooler who was in one of these programs, so I know they exist. But like all school services, a lot depends on how wealthy your local public school is; the more money they have, the more programs.

Hi there,

  Welcome to the forum! My problems all started around the age of 18 and I am now 25. So I completely understand the age thing and being around peers. I was in college, however, but still it is not easy! What are your all symptoms? Do you have pain, and if so where is it located? What got worse after the surgery? I'm hoping to be of any help I can to you, we're here for you!

Well i live in canada more prcisly in Quebec so now I guess , its not the same thing with scholls that are in U.s.a cuz there there not very much suportive there barely sending me all the papers that i need from school like what they learned and stuff,so yeah and its so much pressure going back like in one week.They told me i have to come back if i want to get my report card cuz they didnt let me just do the test while i was working at  studying at home and the kids are rly snobby and egoistical they know that i am sick by just looking how i always get away from class when i cant stand it anuymore.. and they were like laughing in my face so i rly hate that school now and im trying the hardest possible to come back and finnish it. Yeah and Now im taking laxative and Mutamucil and some other stuff to soften my bowel.

As for the symptoms :

 I have rly bad cramps on my belly and higher

a lot of gaz and burping

when i eat i feel sick

After a while ii feel that the food i ate is going up and i get this disguisting taste in my mouth

I get so nauseous that it makes me dizzy and I cant concentrate.

my hand and feet are freezing cold and sometimes they even get purple

and I have contipation with blood

And also its kinda psycological like i get panik attacks at the school like im scared that the symptoms i have are going to happen again in class and im going to feel that way and im rly dicuraged cuz i feel like im misunderstood cuz the ppl i hang out with dont rly know why im always down and depressed im just uncomfortable talking about it with them cuz there not rly the ppl that i can tell stuff like that there not really my friends...

The blood you get, is is bright white and just a bit on the toilet paper? That's probably hemmroids, but if there's some in the bowl, and especially if it's a darker red or black, that indicates intestinal or stomach bleeding and you need to get a colonscopy and endoscopy to check to make sure that you don't have any ulcers. But just a little bit of bright red blood, especially given that you are constipated frequently, is probably just internal hemmroids.

While diarrhea is more common with food allergies, it may be worth trying to see if you're allergic to anything to see if you can get rid of the nausea and chills and cramping. My cousin's husband had a bad gall bladder, but he didn't get any better once they took it out, and they finally figured out he had Celiac's Disease, which is an allergy to gluten. He got off the gluten and is just fine now. There are tests for gluten and other food allergies, but they're not 100% reliable, they can sometimes be hard to get (some doctors don't like to prescribe them for whatever reason), and of course you'll have to wait to see the doctor then wait to have the test. The easiest thing to do is to try cutting gluten out of your diet for two weeks and see if that helps any. Gluten is found in grains, like wheat. Dang near everything that's pre-packaged has gluten in it, regardless of whether or not you would think it would have wheat in it (look at all that tainted dog and cat food in the US). So you need to get to where you eat from-scratch foods, take your lunch to school with you, etc. If the gluten-free diet doesn't seem to help any, try lactose-free. Lactose intolerance and dairy allergies (two different things, actually) can cause constipation. Go totally off all dairy (including caesin, a dairy protein that, again, is in darn near everything pre-made). If that helps, then try lactose-free milk and see if you can tolerate that. If not, then you have a dairy allergy or sensitivity. If you can tolerate it, then you are lactose-intolerant.

You really need an endoscopy anyways because it sounds like you may have a stomach ulcer. They tend to hurt up high and give you acid reflux like you mention (the nausea and feeling like something is coming up into your mouth). In the meantime, try antacids like Pepcid or whatever you have in Canada. Also, sometimes the bile that you have floating around in your system (since you no longer have the gall bladder to contain it), will reflux up. Antacids should help if it's that problem and not an ulcer.
