I was wondering... when i was in high school... i would get up and if i ate breakfast i would get to school and i would get really sick and my stomach and have diarrhea. This was almost an every day thing. It would happen no other time really besides the morning time. It's weird to say it... but i am a guy and i had morning sickness.. lol could it be IBS? Or are there totally different symptoms to IBS?

Hi AronMica,
Most people with IBS will experience the majority of the symptoms in the first few hours of waking up; in fact your post seems a bit normal for the common IBS sufferer. A lot of people that suffer with IBS cannot eat breakfast. When you wake up, your guts wake up as well and for IBSers, its not as simple as a quick BM to start the day. Its intense cramping, pain, and either D or C. The cramping is probably what is causing your nausea, for IBS it can get really extreme.

Hi Aron,
Do you still have this morning problem?
IBS is associated with other symptoms as well. If that is/was your only complaint then it could just be your morning poop. Lots of people are on a set schedule. OR, it could be a "nervous gut"... you've heard the common phrase "you scared the crap out of me." It could even be that your body just needs a little time to adjust to waking up. When you wake up so does your GI tract. Some people are a little more sensitive and when you hit it with food right away it kicks into overdrive and wants to eliminate anything that is already in there.
Back to IBS.... Actually, morning D is super common. However, if there are no other symptoms then it is probably not IBS.

i do have this problem on occasion.. not as much as it did. What are some other symptoms associated with ibs? I have always had problems with my stomach in one form or another. Honestly, i have never been so sick at my stomach in my life. It would feel like my stomach was going to explode. Like i couldnt get to the bathroom fast enough. I still have a hard time eating breakfast.. i just feel sooo sick in the mornings when i wake up. I really cant eat normally until like 12 or so in the afternoon.
