IBS and post nasal drip

I am wondering if bowel problems (and other digestive disorders) can be caused or exacerbated by post nasal drip. I have always had sinus related issues and a lot of mucus dripping down the back of my throat. Presumably this goes into the stomach and may lead to symptoms lower down? One website seems to tentatively confirm this theory - have others out there got sinusitis or excess mucus production(try cutting down on dairy if so)?

Sorry can't remember the site but the symptoms are perpetually stuffed up nose (I have underdeveloped frontal sinuses revealed on MRI scan last year), variable amounts of mucus going down the back of the throat, waking with mouth like a parrot cage in middle of night, coughing, short bouts of nausea and my IBS type symptom of soft faeces first thing with quite a bit of gas and some abdo cramping. My symptoms always seem to worsen in the autumn with the damp weather and fungal spores about and moving the hay and straw for the sheep probably doesn't help either!! Does any of this sound familiar?
