I went to my new gyn appt today regarding my severe llq pain that I have had for almost a year now along with low back pain along with gas, and d.  I had a lap with another gyn and diagnosed with endo and adenoysis.  The doc today wants to do a hystrorectomy.  So it is a gyn problem.  I had posted earlier and just wanted to update everyone.  Thanks.  

It's not easy to lose an organ, and a hysterectomy requires something like 6 weeks of recovery time, even with modern procedures. But, after living with a bad gall bladder for 5 years, I'm not sorry I got it taken out. I'm not normal, but at least I quit hurting. Boy, is that ever a relief.

My mother had endometreosis and fybroid tumors so bad she had her uterus taken out when she was about 32 years old. She said recovery was rough, but once she got over that, she felt like a million bucks because she wasn't constantly hurting and bleeding randomly. Her sister had a total hysterctomy at age 29. My mother ended up having her ovaries removed a decade later because they were so covered with cysts they no longer produced any hormones or functioned at all.

I'm on Depo Provera right now, hoping that by not allowing my ovaries and uterus to cycle, I won't have to get them taken out. Like both of them, I've never had a regular period; it never came when it was supposed to. So I fear that I'm one step away from developing the other problems that they had, albeit many of their problems got worse after they had a child, which I do not have and will not have.
