Hyoscyamine recalled...

All the posts about trouble getting hyoscyamine worried me so I went to my pharmacy to see what was going on.  My pharmacist told me that some generic hyoscyamine was recalled not too long ago.  He told me they had plenty but he hadn't had to order any in a while.  When I asked him to refill my prescription, he discovered that the hyo I had at home, from April, was from the recall.  He then quickly explained that it wasn't a patient recall so someone had determined it was safe.  He had no idea why it would be recalled from pharmacies but not from patients.  Apparently this happens occasionally but we never hear about it.

My refill today was from a different manufacturer.  It's a generic sublingual.

I do have insurance and I paid the generic price. If I'm reading it correctly, the manufacturer is Ethex Corp. This pharmacy doesn't print the cost without insurance so I don't know what the full price would have been.

K-Mart has hyoscyamine .125 tablet and sublingual and .375 capsule and tablet in their 90 day for $15.00 plan. They count 180 as a 90 day supply. That might be a good place to check. They have different meds in the $5/$10/$15 categories.
