hi, my doctor has prescribed me with i.b.s. i am loosing weight at the moment .i dont really get dihorreha very much but visit the toilet about
4 times daily .my stools are firm and sometimes like little nuggets.i have good appetite yet still losing weight.is this normal ?

Hi tug, welcome to the forum. It depends on how much weight you are talking about
here, but weight loss is a "red flag" symptom and should be worked up by your physician. Have you had a colonoscopy?

hi, to be honest he really has not explained that much to me.what is a red flag symptom? they tried to put a camera up to look but failed.they gave me two injections to settle the muscles but didnt work so not had that done.then he told me i had ibs...

By "red flag" I mean that is a significant finding - unexplained weight loss - and they should really figure out the cause behind it. Why did the colonoscopy (camera test) fail?
