Hello wonder if any one can help. I have allways thought of wind pain to be lower ie below the tummy button but i get get pressure and pain just below my rib cage does any one else get this could it be trapped wind this high? dr just says its my ibs. It also reallt hurts to push it even gently. thanks for reading.x

Yes, wind can indeed be trapped that high. Some even feel it up in their chest. Have you tried drinking any teas or tried OTC gas meds? When I get that pain and pressure really high, I try to drink fennel or mint tea, and I walk. Walking helps dislodge the wind, and those teas help break up the gas.
BTW - Do you have acid reflux or a hernia? Those could also cause similar pain.

A couple of years ago the Dr said it was acid and gave me acid tablets cant remember the name but they made no differance at all. These were a very stong dose just made me feel very sick but stayed on them incase they helped but they did'nt. thats what made me wonder if it may be wind but not sure if the sytoms are very different between acid and wind. thanks for your reply. confused
