Antibiotics and D

Hello all. I hope you are coping. I've not been in touch for a while as things have settled down in the IBS dept.
However, all that may be about to change as they say.

I have had to embark on a week's course of antibiotics for a possible ear infection. Cefalexin is the name. I have found from previous experience that Amoxycillin does the works on the intestines so am trying this instead. Do any of you have tips on how to minimise diarrhoea with antibios? I am taking lactobacillus and have ordered some Culturelle (difficult to obtain in UK it seems but I ordered some on eBay!)

Here's hoping the dreaded D doesn't materialise but it's a real nuisance if it does as the whole intestine was calming down nicely.

Just be sure you take your probiotics at least 2 hours AFTER you're finished taking antibiotics for the day or the antis will just kill off the pros.
