Left Side Abdominal Pain

Hi everyone,

I am hoping for someone with similar experience. For almost 3 months I have had severe left sided abdominal pain. I have gone for an ultrasound, CT Scan, Xray and scope. THe scope revealed Gastristis caused by H Pylori infection and I was treated with the triple therapy. THe pain has not gone away, I went back to the Specialist today and he feels that it might be my colon or the pain is caused by IBS. He ordered another xray on friday and has started me on 100 mg 3 times a day of Dicetel.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have a lot of pain on my left side, specifically under my left rib. The problems I have under there are #1- costochondritis, which is inflammation of the cartilage between the ribs and the breastbone (sternum). #2 I have a twisted colon right at the bend under my left rib and when things aren't moving well I have pain. It's good that you are getting it checked out. I hope you find relief soon. Take care

I don't quite understand what he expects to see on an X-ray. Did you have an upper and lower CT Scan? It could be coming from something lower that would need to be seen on a pelvic scan or possibly it is time for a colonscopy. If you check out the picture of the colon and your other organs you will see that the colon goes up and then twists in about that area. That is where I get trapped gas and lots of bloating. Mine is not pain but mine feels like it has gone numb in that area. There is sort a kink right there. I find lying on my side helps relieve it. Perferably my right side.
