I am 28 year old, very healthy athletic male. Dull pain in Rectum, feels like its only a couple of inches interior. Not constant.
Comes once every couple of months, sometimes every other month, Varies.
Not a sharp peircing pain, but a dull uncomfortable pain. It usually comes at night time after I have been asleep for awhile. It prevents me from sleeping. When I get this pain, what I do is get up and attempt to pass stool.
If there is stool to pass, I pass stool of course, no problem. And well, if there is no stool, well, then nothing happens. So this rules out constipation. I still have normal stool. But I still sit there, and flex, not hard, the sphincter muscles here and there.
This does somewhat take the pain away. SO I will just sit there until the pain subsides. It doesn't just disappear, but sort of fades away. I am then able to go to sleep. The ammount of time the pain is present varies. Sometimes it lasts for 30 minutes, sometimes an hour.
It is nothing to do with my age, because as Ive said, the first time I got it, I was 11, and it has happened every since. A couple of times a year. At least once every 4 months.
I told my new doctor about it, finally, and I am scheduled for a colonoscopy in one week. Though I don't believe I need my entire colon looked at, well, might as well right, its part of the procedure. Again, feels like its only a couple of inches interior of the rectum. A dull uncomfortable pain. Not sharp/pericing.
Any Ideas???
Thanks
