I was diagnosed with GERD 7 years ago and just in August, 2008 had a laproscopic nissen fundoplication procedure for a hiatal hernia. Since then, I've had dysphagia with liquids and solids even through 2 esophageal dilations. I recently started experiencing pain in my abdomen (above the bellybutton, sometimes localized to the right, and even tender to the touch) after eating pretty much everything!! I'm on a mostly liquid diet. I have had a Bravo ph test (negative) and a gastric emptying study (negative) and am currently awaiting the results of a blood test for celiac disease. If that comes back negative, however, I think my doctor is just going to go with an IBS diagnosis. However, I've had no changes in bowel movements, the pain is constant rather than episodic and alcohol and caffeine don't bother me. I don't feel comfortable w/ the IBS diagnosis, especially since I experience no diarrhea and no constipation. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
