Good Morning/Noon/Evening/Night,
I'm just peeping over here from the Chronic Pain Forum. My doctors told me what I suffer resembles from far IBS (though it isn't). Let me fill you in.
I've been having chronic diahhrea for the past 21 years (at least 8 hours a day) and chronic intestinal bleeding for the past 16. For the past 16 years I've had a chronic need for bloodtransfusions. Apart from this, both my hips tossed in the towel when I was 12 (36 now), and on August 1st 2000 I was run over by a car and hit a steel garbage container ... right side broken, left side crushed and a lot of stuff inbetween ruptured. In 2002 I became epileptic. After 6 years of revalidation I was able to walk again, although with a cane. Then the intestinal problem evolved into an unknown form of tumor (50% benighn and 50% malignant - very special according to the docs who take me apart on a regular basis). A second tumor crushed the lower three discs of my spinal column in 2007.
I've had too many bloodtransfusions in the past and my body can't take any more (neither any form of other "Liquid Schwartz" (from the movie Spaceballs) as we call it jokingly in the hospital. Can't have surgery because my hemoglobine is too low and and ferritine almost non-existant (not to mention vitamins, miners, etc ... or better said, the lack thereoff).
Last year my hemo dropped to 5.1 and my doctors gave me up. Since then I was able to make a recovery, to some extend, thanks to morphine sulphate (60mg a day) and additinal paracetamol and Codeine. It's the morphine that's doing the trick. By now my hemo went up to 12.5, a personnal record and my weight is back to 55 kg. (182 cm tall).
Hope to learn something from you guys and to be able to share some of the knowledge I've accumulated.
Cheers.
