Hi... new to this forum, looking for info on hip injuries... and thought I'd share this in this stream
about 7 years ago I was catching only half breaths, having trouble swallowing, coughing incessantly, and for a few scary times actually thought I was going to choke to death... I had been troubled with sinusitis since my youth, not to mention Hemmies and IBS... nothing worked
in my search to stop the choking... (GP's had done nothing to assist except give me a puffer that very quickly gave me a full blown case of thrush!)... I came across two invaluable sites (Wake Forest and Columbia I believe it was) that lead to do a self diagnosis, which was later confirmed by a naturopath... I had LPRD... if you suffer from sinusitis, shortness of breath, IBS, Hemmies look it up... LPRD is (to me) a more serious condition than the more common GERD that everyone hears about... after my fourth choking incident in which I had no air going in or out of my windpipe I found these sites and turned my health around... btw... I have always been in excellent shape, and in my mid 50's am still active in several sports...
LPRD can be caused by:
• dairy products (primarily cow)
• Citrus fruits
• caffeine
• alcohol
• spicy foods
• hydrogenated fats
I gave up all but the spicy foods at the time, and have since been induce alcohol whenever I desire...
however... within 8 days of giving up all dairy products and citrus my sinusitis disappeared... my choking episodes have not returned... I can take in full breaths all the time... I hav e energy to burn...
and you're wondering why I am posting this in the IBS section???
because while I was curing my respiratory ailments through modification of my diet I also was apparently curing my IBS and Hemmies... that's right, since getting rid of dairy I have been Hemmie and IBS free for 7 years... I have not used a drop of Prep H in 7 years... I have not walked around like my gotchies are stuck to (ok too much info here) in 7 years... and all along it was the dairy that was causing the problem
I can have cheeses from Goat's milk with no problems, I can have soy products... I now detest the taste of dairy products... you say what about pizza?... I love pizza but have not (knowingly) taken a slice of pizza with cheese on it in 7 years... my pizzas are flavourful and are adorned with feta (goats)... there is no regular cheese to smother the taste of all the other ingredients I throw on it...
conclusion: if you want to get rid of your IBS and Hemmies try dumping all your dairy... better yet get rid of all the things I listed above and see how much better you really feel!... and, best of luck cuz I know where you're coming from!
