I'm usually on the Fibromyalgia forum, but lately this is taking ALL my attention. I've had IBS for years, tended toward constipation all my life, but had it pretty much under control with a lot of food fiber, Citrucel, and Miralax. Not anymore! After being gluten free for 4 weeks, my bowels seem to have decided they don't need to work anymore. (This started getting bad about
2 weeks ago.) I poop a tiny bit, sometimes several times a day, but not nearly enough - I'm really bloated. Strangely, the stomach stuff that bugged me before seems to have gone since I stopped eating gluten...nausea, churning, gas...and I at first thought it was great. Everything I read talks about
being constipated FROM gluten!
I had my gallbladder out in '06 and that seemed to help with abdominal pain, too. Anyone have any insights? I'm getting really worried, and uncomfortable! Last Tuesday, I took 2 Senna, and while it did produce a little, I had awful stomach pains afterwards, almost like labor pains.
