For all you Ultimate Flora Critical Care 50-Billion users:

I am going to begin using this myself and was wondering when is the best time of day to take this? Is it better to take it on a full or empty stomach? I want to get the best results so figured I should ask before beginning it tomorrow. Any information will be very helpful to me. Thank you all!

When I first tried it, I read somewhere here - possibly on the UC forum - that you should take it on a completely empty stomach. Since I am used to eating a light breakfast as soon as I wake up I didn't think morning was best. And since I also try not to eat solids after dinner (a trick I've determined manages my IBS symptoms better), by 10 or 11 pm, my stomach is empty.

Now if you don't eat breakfast, try it in the morning.

But bedtime seems to be best for me.

Sometimes if I am really off track and having trouble, I take a second dose mid-morning, 2 to 3 hours after I've eaten breakfast.

For some reason it works very well if your stomach isn't full, you don't want the pill to dissolve with food or in the stomach. It should remain encoated and in tact until it reaches the lower colon (where you need it most).

Good luck! I started with the 50 but have moved up to the 80. Pricier but it seems to work well for me.

Hello to_the _bars,

I take 2 Ultimate Flora a day the first as soon as I wake up and the second before I go to bed.  They work great for me.  I think it's important to take them daily just like you would any med even when things improve to continue taking them.
