The gallbladder is an organ which stores concentrated bile (the enzyme which digests fat). The liver creates bile, but only in a less concentrated form that the GB stores, which is why, when the GB is removed, people are still able to eat fatty food normally, because bile is secreted straight from the liver into the bowel. However when an excess of fatty food is consumed, what would usually be digested by the concentrated bile, can no longer be, and therefore some fat is left undigested and will go straight through the system leaving you with Diarrhoea.
When the GB, or bile duct is blocked, this creats the same effect.
Doing liver cleanses may resolve the issue in the short term but if you wish these symptoms to stop then you may wish to get your GB removed.
