IBS Issues * Urgent help please *

I've not been to well for the past 3 months.

Here are the following things, I have had so far.

Tiredness
Gastritis ( gone away )
diarrhea
Nausea
Lower abdominal pain
Mucus stools
Bloody stools ( only a few episodes )

Basically to sum it all down, I have had a lot of different thing's happen to me.
Main cause of consern to myself is that all my lower abdominal is very very painful, on my right side I keep getting pains starting going up to my upper abdominal, when i feel the area is feels quite painful, I've been hospital a few times already been rushed in most of the times, they never did much tests only blood tests.

I have had diarrhea for the past few years including white mucus stools. sometimes like spit. something you'd see when you have a infection in your lungs, including where the whole stool is just pure mucus.
The pains have only started a few months ago, and I don't care what i have, but i'd perfer just to know what it is, because the doctors don't seem to care at all and I'm sick and tried off it,

When i went hospital they said i needed an endoscpy but i went out for a cig, and when i got back the nurse said, that your to late he's gone on his lunch break, if he does not have one now he won't for the rest of the day, he said he would give me a letter but i did not get any letter, and when i went to my gp they never found the blood tests they did on the NHS records, at the moment they are testing for celiac diease.

My last celiac diease test, came back inconclusive.

I'm fed up off the pain, i have lost about 2 stone,

Maybe someone could help me here? I am happy to tell you what's going on for maybe some insight off what's going on

You need to be evaluated by a gastroenterologist. I think your health care system requires a referral by your GP. Is that correct? Will your GP refer you to a GI to get the appropriate tests?

A colonoscopy can evaluate the colon and lower end of the small bowel. An endoscopy can look at the esophagus, stomach and duodenum. There are xrays or scans that can also look for signs of gastointestinal problems.

IBS is a diagnosis that can only be arrived at when all the other possible intestinal diseases have been ruled out.

Please see your GP and get started on getting some tests to figure out what is going on with your guts.

They have put me on Mebeverine BP 135MG. These tablet's don't help in the slightest it's not always about the IBS symptoms, as you see my gran has the same thing. she also has a hernia somewhere in her upperbody. but I'm not sure if that could be the case. I know that with one of my family members having IBS, there is a good chance i could have it right?

For the record.

I keep having pain in my rib-cage. lower part, including my lower abdominal on both sides, my ribs are quite tender.
I'm unsure but it feels like some kind of lump or something,

On my right side it goes all the way down then into my middle of my back and that goes. and comes/

I have very similar symptoms, and I am on a waiting list for a endoscopy and a colonoscopy.

My pain is often right underneath the right shoulder blade, and occasionally is felt on the left side, this leads me to think it may be gall bladder related issues as my digestion hasn't been the best since Xmas.

Unless I keep taking movicol by bowels just do not work as they should, and I will be seeing my doctor next Wednesday to ask if he will refer me for some tests prior to the diagnostic procedures that I mentioned earlier.

Am I within my rights to ask for more tests?

The lump you mention, where exactly do you feel this and how big does the lump feel?

It feels like a swollen rib on my left side in the midde, its hard for me to feel the lump, I have had very similar issues since Christmas.

If you think you might need them test's then your well within you'r right's to ask for further test's.
My pain from my sides are very very bad, I'm thinking of going hospital again.

IF, it is IBS you have then the muscus is not a serious, just annoying, but can be helped some.

"Some patients see gobs of mucous in the stool and become concerned. Mucous is a normal secretion of the bowel, although most of the time it cannot be seen. IBS patients sometimes produce large amounts of mucous, but this is not a serious problem. "

It's not just about the IBS,

I have terriable pain in my lower ribs right in my sides. on both sides, and I'm at the moment taking codine just to help the pain.

Gone away, was it just a hemmie or a fissure or something? What did the doctor say about that as well?

If a doctor isn't sure he should send the patient to a specialist, most of the time though they don't unless you pursue the matter.
