I went to bed early one night feelling fine,  stomach pain woke me up about 3 times I had to run to the bathroom... I had D about 5 times and terrible pain in my stomach, One of the times I fell asleep again to my husband waking up that I had  the D while asleep... I didnt even know I did untill he woke me up.... I ended up going back to sleep about

5 am. After  sleeping for 3 to 4 hours I woke up to fatigue, stomach pain but no more diarreah.... This has happened to me, to other times... I do have IBS 

Has any one expirience this before? tongue

Have you been through all the tests to eliminate all other possible causes of intestinal issues? IBS does not normally cause a person to awake in the night with diarrhea or to have diarrhea in their sleep. Did you have a colonoscopy before the IBS diagnosis?

In any event, I suggest that you make an appointment with your gastroeneterologist. He/she needs to know that you have been having this problem.

I have Crohn's disease, and I have been incontinent of stoll more times then I care to remember. It is embarrassing but you are not the only one this has ever happened to. That's little comfort when it happens. I'm sorry you are daeling with this.

I am with Ides on this you should be checked out. IBS doesn't usally wake someone, but occasionally perhaps, but not on a regular basis and if your symptoms have changed see a doctor.

How were you diagnosed with IBS?
