I was given the 24 marker capsule today, and was told to come back in 5-days (Monday). I have been diagnosed with IBS-C. Thankfully, it does not seem to be as bad as some of you guys have it (I don't mean that in a negative manner... just admitting that others have it worse). I have 0-1 BMs a week, usually on Tuesday or Wednesday, so this is what makes me nervous.
I read another post that reassured another person that one BM will probably not affect the test. Can anyone else attest to this? Are the markers visible in the stool, so I could try to monitor it that way? I have small round, hard stool. I was told to eat normally, with no laxatives, and it scares me. lol It was not until I limited myself to completely all natural, all whole wheat, no additives or other junk did I realize how NOT normal I was for 11 years. I am in my mid-twenties, and can recall starting to have this problem in high school.
Will the x-ray have to be read by my gastroenterologist, before I am notified if I have to come back for another x-ray, or is the technician (who will be taking the x-ray) be qualified for that? From other posts I have read, it seems like they were told on the same day to come back? However, my appointment with my gastroenterologist is not until two weeks after my x-ray (she did not have any available appointments until then).
Thanks.
