Hello my name is Kelsey I am 21 years old and I live in Wisconsin. I have been struggling with IBS for a few years now on and off just recently finding out with it is. So far I have had a VERY hard time with it. In the last 90 days I have missed 50% of work, most of my families birthdays, weddings ext...
I am afraid to leave my house, I always feel like I am going to throw up even when I take anti nausea meds. I am in the bathroom for a min of 3 hours a day mostly between 4-8AM and normally throw up a few times in a week. Lately my IBS has gotten so bad that I can't eat anything.
I am really lost in what todo about my ibs. My friends, family and employer try to understand but they just don't understand that just eating everyday food makes me this is.
I have looked into different diets but I am so alone and lost in all of this. I do not know where to start! Can anyone help me!?

Hi Kelsey
Have you seen a doctor about your symptoms and actually been diagnosed with IBS?
Vomiting as often as you do is (I think) dangerous besides being inconvenient. I know a person who had the same issues for years and had stomach ulcers. I think the medical establishment has changed theories over the years as to the cause and treatment.
She also had a lot of trouble with her teeth and gum disease from the stomach acid passing through her mouth.
I suggest that you google "persistent nausea and vomiting". You will find that there are several websites that result. The ones ending with .org are probably the best to get correct info.
At the very least I think you should consult a specialist and discover the cause.
I've had UC for 10 years and it took a long time to identify the foods that are a problem.
Many keep a food journal, writing down what is eaten and the results each day. It is a good idea to bring this information when you visit the doctor.
I think you could start by avoiding lactose. Almond and coconut milk are good alternatives.
