Greeting IBS forum. I'm usually in Fibro, but today I need a little help in this department. (My terminology is probably awful, so I apologize in advance.)

Yesterday this 'thing' started. I believe it's a lesion or fissure (on the inside.) Bowel movements are incredibly painful. The closest type of pain I could compare it to would be the act of getting a tattoo: very piercing, stinging pain. After the bm it subsides (mostly; it still hurts afterward but is nowhere near crippling.)

I don't know much about this. What could this be? I have A&D, but is there anything else I can take to help?

Sounds like a fissure. I had several and having a BM was like passing razors. My PCP gave me lidocaine gel to apply before a BM to help numb the area. He also gave me hydrocortisone ointment to apply to cut down the inflammation. Both my items were prescription meds. Prior to seeing the doc I tried Preparation H and it stung horribly. Make sure you keep up your fiber and liquids so as to keep yourself from getting constipated. Large, hard stools can cause a fissure.
