Hi.
I have been Dx with IBS-C, GERD, and gastritis. I am pretty sure the nausea is from the C, at least that's what I've been told, but I don't know what to do anymore. Doc is working on finding a good combination of meds and diet to help with the C, but I am so confused and feel helpless. It seems that either I am really constipated or else I have diarrhea (which is made more horrible due to bowel incontinence). My GI doc is basically useless, and I see a new one in 2 weeks. The one I have now just hands me prescriptions and says "see me in 3 months". Thanks doc! Anyway, I feel nauseous most of the time, but most severely after eating. I spend a lot of time curled up on the couch or in bed sleeping because of it. It has really messed up my life. I guess I am wondering if anyone else is living with this, and if so, how do you cope/deal with it? When it gets really awful, I take Zofran, but I know that can make C worse!
On another subject, I was able to laugh at myself/my illness this past week a little bit. I was out shopping and had recently increased some meds, so I'm in the middle of the store when my bowels just let loose! OMG! NO warning at all! No stopping it. All I could do was tie my jacket around my waist and try to make my way to the car (without leaving a trail behind me) (TMI). I felt like my only options were to cry or to laugh. I laughed.
Thanks to everyone for posting their stuff on this forum....makes me feel like I'm not so alone, and even more than that, like I don't have to be ashamed of these issues, it's not my fault.
