Ahh, yes... constipation.
Boy, have you come to the right forum. I'm sure there are scores of us on here with the same 'cut and paste' stories.
For me, personally, the issue has been solved by having a Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis (CDSA) test to see what is going on inside the gut. Then a IgG allergy test to identify problem foods. Based on these tests I proceeded with a DIY fecal transplant procedure to restore the missing gut bacteria. (I chose a capsule option, most people go with a fecal transplant enema)
In a lot of cases, constipation is a sure sign of gut dysbiosis. Your body needs certain bacteria strains to help you pass a stool. These bacteria can be in the small intestine or colon. As a general rule most probiotics won't cut it. Even if they survive the transit through the stomach, they will only replace a few bacteria. This is a drop in the ocean when you consider the gut houses from anywhere between 1000 and 40,000 different bacteria.
If you have severe gut dysbiosis you will be constipated and no amount of fibre will help you.
Hopefully others on the board can give you their opinions.
