I know that 6 to 8 are recommended...but if you drink 32 oz of h2o everyday, you will be ok (unless your dr has told you specifically otherwise)
NEVER try to drink your water down in large amts... Its amazing how just frequent SIPS or like 1 or 2 oz at a time will help you....I found that 32 oz is just right for me and my doc said okey dokey! :)

OH make sure the water is tepid (room temp)...if its really cold, to me, it just doesn't 'want to go down...'
