Hello!
I've not been officially diagnosed with IBS but I'm not sure what I have. I've been constipated since I was about 16 (im now 19!) and didn't tell doctors until I had to go hospital for an X-ray due to intense stomach pain which was actually a massive impaction all the way up my colon 😯
Anyway ive been on everything since; movicol, Senna, bisacodyl, lactulose, laxido, and now finally I'm on a new drug called Resolor / prochlorpezarine.
This drug worked brilliantly to begin with and the effects are wearing off; doctor says it's great stuff and wanted to continue but use lactulose along side which still isn't helping!!! I don't know what to do as I need to go !
To make matters worse I have haemorrhoids; another thing I chose not to tell the doctors! However they found out when performing a colonoscopy and said I need survey with full aneastethic to remove; I'm scared does anyone have experience?!

Have you tried linzess for constipation? it's really the only thing that works for me. Start at low dose of 145mcg, and can work up to taking double the dose if needed.


Hope you find something that works. Wish you lots of luck and hope the procedure to remove hemorrhoids is simple w/ a fast recovery. Only suggestion I'd have for that is to have it done at a hospital, not just a larger clinic, so that if God forbid something went wrong, they have the staff and equipment to handle any emergency. Don't mean to scare you; I just always like to be prepared!! Makes me feel safer!

I know it's hard to tell the docs these things, I kept my problems a secret for about 35 years, I'm 36 now. It was so hard to talk about at first, I was embarrassed and ashamed, but now I realize it was not my fault, and these docs spend their lives dedicated to these issues, they see patients with these problems all day, every day, and think nothing of it. It will get easier the more you talk about it and deal with it. Promise.

I have had IBS - C and usually it is a painless process, not very nice though. I have a b m every day which is good.

my colonoscopy came up clean and had a recent cat scan of my stomach and that was also okay

don't know what to say about it since it has been over twenty years that i had it except this winter I got very sick with breathing, lost appetite and thought I was getting better but in March I started have very painful gas pains.

there doesn't seem to be anything to help me. Zelnorm was a help but linzess was terrible for me. they took zelnorm off the market so don't know if there is another option.

I have fecal incontinence and it is very upsetting to me.

it is a mysterious problem and they don't seem to have any answers for us

all we can do is try to support each other and wish each other the best.

Try normacol. It worked for me. They are high fibre granules that have to be prescribed :)
