I suppose what I have is IBS, I had a colonoscopy and was told I have no spinchter muscles. I have made a log of foods I eat, and nothing seems to match the diarrhea I get that I can not control, goes to my feet, especially if I don't wear enough protection. Does anyone else have this problem, makes me just want to stay home, I don't get a warning. confused

Really not much just that is why I can't stop bowels, but no offer what to do, so I suppose I will have to go and seek other advise.

Definitely get a second opinion. You shouldn't have to live like that. What kind of doctor did your scope? Was it a gastroenterologist?

Yes he was, but moved to another state, so I am scheduled to see another. I just hate taking medications. I have tried several different ways of eating and also keeping a log of foods to see if something set this in motion, but nothing helped. So scars to go out of house.

I failed to respond to any medication for IBS , except for lotronex(spelling?) so doctor gave me low dose vicodin to stop things. I was helped by the L word but it was horrible if I took too much I could not go and it was too painful and frightening. It was off market for a while because women had died from adverse event blockage I took 1/4 or recommended dose. I tried hypnosis and together with probiotics, a teaspoon of coconut oil everyday, and nonni powder concentrate(the bottles of juice go bad too fast) I am able to go off and on the vicodin to keep it fairly regular. If something happens of a traumatic nature I am in trouble within what I call the 30 second rule. It is so stressful to have it, it is a circle. You get it because of stress and it stresses you out and it gets worse. Does sound like you have a double whammy with lack of muscle control and loose bowels. Keep experimenting and definitely go to as many doctors as it takes. My doctor swears by kegal excersise also for control count 200 a day after a few weeks practice. I also have chronic pain not helped by over the counter meds so vicodin is a necessary evil. . Stress and 9 years on advil caused the IBS. No coffee and never any NSAID's.
