Cdiff or IBS?

I've had watery diarrhea on & off for at least a week, maybe more. Last couple of days stomach area has mild pains, & lots of gas. Very tired. I don't think I have a fever. Short of going to the hospital for testing, how would one know the difference between the two? Or would we?

My GI guy writes a lab slip for me and I bring a stool sample to quest or wherever and they test for C.Diff toxins. I've been positive since the first part of November and taking vancomycin on and off since then. It is important to know.
