Hi everyone, I am new here, came across the forum on search engine and seemed a good place to register to and share my bowel problem
I suffer with health anxiety so anything like this always feels x10 worse! Went I went to the loo earlier for a number 2 and looked behind me, I noticed part of the stool looked very different, at first I thought it was a bone! my HA kicked in, I fished it out (digusting I know i'm sorry!) and it felt rock hard, it was longish and very dark brown, it was that dry it could be snapped. So when I snapped it and parts of it crumbled, it was more lighter brown once crumbled. My first thought was I have a serious illness! But thinking a bit more calmer this past week and a half I changed my diet alot. I have started intermittent fasting, eat no food for 16 hours only drink water and eat during an 8 hour period and in that 8 hour period I have been eating alot of calories up to 2,500.
Has anyone else had a stool THIS dry!? Should I get to a GP? or could it because of my diet?
Sorry for the image!
Thanks!
Steve
EDIT: Did find something online saying eating a lot of protein and having not much fibre can increase stool hardness and darkness, yesterday I ate a TON of protein! And that was really it, maybe a few carbs! So this could be what has caused it! Still need to calm this HA down though!
