I've had stool testing which identified ovegrown alpha haemoltyic streptococcus and gamma haemolytic streptococcus along with klebsiella oxytoca.
I never had any major diarrhea or constipation, just undigested food in stool and flatulence for a bit.
Did the lactulose breath test and came out hydrogen dominant severe at 100. Doctor told me to take Candibactin AR/BR which seemed to make my stool weird so I finished the bottle and stopped. He wants me to switch to another herbal product that was in the medical literature for SIBO, but he doesn't seem to be trying to target my specific bacteria. He also had me taking Metagenics probiotic.
Now I am experiencing anxiety through the roof for no apparent reason and I am wondering if this is related to SIBO. My symptoms are so different than most people that I keep wondering if I even have SIBO but according to medical literature, streptococcus is one of the most commonly associated bacterias with SIBO:
"In most patients, SIBO is not caused by a single bacterial strain. In general, there is an extension of colonic bacteria into the small bowel. Less frequently, the “normal” amount of small intestinal bacteria increases. Bouhnik et al[92] investigated samples of jejunal juice in 63 patients with diarrhoea and/or malabsorption. The diagnostic criteria of SIBO were fulfilled in 55 persons (87%). The authors identified 141 micro-aerophilic strains (Streptococcus 60%, Escherichia coli 36%, Staphylococcus 13%, Klebsiella 11% and others) and 117 anaerobes (Bacteroides 39%, Lactobacillus 25%, Clostridium 20% and others)[92]."
...and I did have a positive on the breath test.
My doctor thinks the SIBO is also causing hormone imbalance.
Has anyone experienced anxiety through the roof from SIBO? I'm wondering what in the world is going on. I have never been this anxious in my life previously.
