I just had this procedure done 6 days ago to help with my 3 month old anal fissure. While I had some initial relief with pain and passing bowel movement (BM), I've had more pain and pressure when passing BM the past 2 days leading to some continued discomfort.
I have been keeping a fairly regular diet of fiber and healthy eating with lots of water, doing sitz baths 2-3x per day, and taking Colace. With this being said, the first initial part of the BM is a very short and hard stool followed by soft long stools. There is blood still in the stool and upon initial blotting.
I guess what my questions are is: is this normal? should I still be feeling pain? why is my initial excretion hard as opposed to the rest of the BM? Why is the pain continuing after the BM?
