Hi Everyone,
Anyone out there use Goldenseal and Ginger to help IBS Symptoms? Do they work?. Are there any recommended amounts to take,or just follow the label?
I used to drink lots of water, but now I can only stomach about one maybe two .05 liters of water per day without getting nauseated or feeling bloaty.
I was drinking Celestial Seasonings "Sleepytime" or Bigelow "Sweet Dreams" before going to bed but found my stomach still cramping. ..maybe because I read somewhere that graham crackers were a "safe" food, that I had with the tea, made my stomach cramp. maybe it was the Enriched Flour in the crackers..ummmmmm evertthing has this flour in it...what is safe to eat without cramping? I would like a snack once in a while too.
Stress......c'mon, lets not stress about what foods to eat...( I'm trying..really,but I'm beginning to be skin and bones.
Interesting enough, I spent a lot of time at the supermarket looking for safe foods, like Crackers and cookies, flours, and found that there are lots of these items with Enriched Flour as the very first ingredient.
I'm still fuzzy about legumes, beans and brown rice. I thought the brown rice was a good source of fiber and insoluber fiber, but is it still good for IBS sufferers? How about red beans? I soaked over night, rinsed the water, and simmered on low for an hour and a half, drained, added just a little bit of the green part of the scallion, and a little bit (1 Tablespoon) of Italian dressing, but am afraid to eat it now.
I need a food that will be safe for me to eat all day long. I only have a protein drink with fresh fruit and Soy milk, a piece of Sara lee whole grain WHITE bread with some honey on it. And that's all I can tolerate until the next day.
I read that Sourdough is good for IBS,but only has 1 gram of fiber, whereas the Sare lee Whole grain white bread ( with Enriched Flour) has three(3) grams of dietary Fiber.
I was feeling adventurous (and hungry)....I even BBQ'D some wild Salmon and two big Chicken breasts (saved for another day) but after I cooked it,I was not hungry at all,but just starting cramping after I had a small amount (1/2 Cup) of Black cherry JELLO. It contained Aspartame which is not good for IBS as a sweetener. I've lost so much weight from not eating, this can't be healthy for me,but at least I'm getting the protein.
I would like to know what you'all eat without getting the cramping...Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease? What are YOUR safe foods? First I heard that bran muffins are good, but not really.....I'm so
Thanks again. unhappycramper
