Joint pain with IBS

Just wondering if IBS can cause joint pain? Like in your knees? Hope this isnt a dumb question?

I guess it's a possibility, because I'm having a bad time with my IBS right now because I just started my wonderful week of joy (does anyone else have trouble with their IBS when they are on their period? just wondering..) and I woke up this morning and my knees had a really bad dull ache to them..maybe im growing though! :) that would be wonderful I'd love to hit 6 foot! :)

I to have joint pain in my knees and neck... What the heck IBS just makes us all feel like crap!!! No pun intended... lol I have done the watch everything I eat and it really does not matter. I could eat perfect and still have IBS issues. It sucks!! I think it is was it is I have tried to learn to except it and try to live a semi normal life. Has anyone ever had that test where you swallow the little camera?? It is called a small bowel endoscopy... Just wondering if it is worth having.. Thanks.. Ryleigh

Hi Ryleigh,
Do you have extreme pain and/or bleeding? Do your docs suspect you may have an IBD? If so, yes, the camera pill is worth it. You also have to consider insurance... if you have insurance then absolutely try the camera pill. Usually, however, insurance will only cover the camera pill if you have already had a colonoscopy. Colonoscopies only see your large bowel and do not reach all of your small intestines. This is why the camera pill is so valuable; it will record your entire digestive process and detect any abnormality that may not have been found otherwise.

Thanks Lil, Yes I have insurance. I have already had 2 colonoscopies... I do not have any bleeding just alot of pain... Ryleigh
