Anyone ever get a certified letter from GI closing relationship?

I'm so sorry... doctors should not do that to us for no reason. It sounds like he was pushing you off on someone else. I wouldn't think that he wouldn't want to see you because you have IBS. I had a long relationship with my GI doc before I was dx'd with diverticulosis or UC. He is very nice and let's face it, he gets paid to see me. I could see how it would hurt after being loyal to him for so long. If you feel comfortable, I would call and ask exactly what you are saying here... what if you didn't agree with the 2nd opinion. I hope you get some answers.

If you wanted to keep seeing the old G.I., I would write a letter back saying that no, you are not terminating your relationship with him but that you were merely seeking a second opinon, as is your right as a patient and to please keep your original medical records at his office and only send copies to other doctors that request them. I might also mention that it was on his advice that I sought out a second opjnion for my condition. I would not be rude, but I would be very blunt and refuse to accept his rejection. The only time I have heard of something like this happening is when a bunch of G.I.s are together in the same practice; they don't like you switching up constantly because they can't keep track of whose patient you are (a lot of people want to just see whoever is first available). I don't see why you can't keep the old one on the line until you see whether you like the new one or not. It's like you're playing the field and trying to date two men at the same time, lol.
