Just wandering since it seems that most on here on female. What is the percentage of females to males that have IBS specifically D.  I am a 35 year old male with IBS-D and I was just curious of what the stats were...

42 year old female with IBS-A had for 10 years...  My gastro says more women have this than men..  But also women tend to go to the doctor more than men.   Men only go when they are on there death bed...  So who knows how many men suffer in silence...

So with only a few posts it seems that it affects more women. What exactly is IBS- A... I know what D and C are. Just never heard of A.

Alternating. It means you get to enjoy both constipation and diarrhea. I think it's the worst kind to have because you can't treat the constipation without getting diarrhea or treat the diarrhea without getting constipation. At least when you have one or the other you can try medicines and find something that will at least help most of the time.

female with "not 100% sure if I do or don't have crohn's but I do have IBS-D, definitley!!!!! and I just turned 33 yrs
