I was just given a prescription for Zelnorm to help with chronic constipation after brain surgery and lots of meds. I only took the Zelnorm for 5 days because I was having increased anxiety and insomnia. I was wondering if anyone else has taken Zelnorm or has had any similar side effects?

Hi,
I was on Zelnorm for several months and never had insomnia or anxiety. I wonder if your insomnia was caused by anxiety (or vice versa) and not the zelnorm. In all the research I did before I started taking it I never read about either of those... Mainly just gas, nausea, cramping/abdominal pain, headache, & diarrhea.
Everyone's different though, I'm not saying it couldn't have been the Z. Did you talk to your doc about this? In those 5 days did it do anything for your bowels?
