Apparently it's used to help treat IBS as well as IBD, headaches, respitory problems and anxiety and some other things as well...

It will also increase acid reflux so be careful if acid is a problem. It is calming and that is what makes the LES valve relax which allows the HCL acid from stomach to get into esophagous. I bought some that was supposed to not affect it as it is supposed to break down in small intestines instead of stomach but even though it soothed the stomach it did increase the acid and it made everything taste like peppermint. I have never heard of it being used for respiratory problems as that is my main problem but anything that relaxes you can help with that.

I never knew it could be a benefit for anxiety either or some of the other things the link mentioned, but good warning about
the acid reflux.

I used to use peppermint capsules when I was having alot of lower GI problems. It was hard to tell if it helped or not. But man, does that stuff burn on the way out!!
