  down on my right side lower then my apendix (im sure its not the problem i had it for a while now) it often feels bloated. it comes and goes it feels tighter and sometimes i have to use the bathroom (not urineate) but not all the time. i was wondering if that has to do with IBS. i get some pains there sometimes. not too serious but annoying. i also have a lot of anxiety (i visit that forum too :)  i wouldnt think that its cancer right??? it seems to come and go. not like its always there. so heres what the deal is one more time: lower then my apendix on my right side. tight sometimes and bloated feeling, sometimes followed by a bowel movement or gas, but not always. sometimes pain. kinda sharp feeling.. had it for a while never really got better or worse. comes and goes througho out the day. some days i dont feel it.

    do you think its serious... like cancer or something (i get nervous even asking that) or is it common with you guys.. and if you have that same problem how does it feel, how long and where... thank you guys sooo much. i would highly apreciate any help, as i found this forum to be very friendly and helpful. thank you.   :)

Hi nick,
How often does this happen? Have your bathroom habits changed on a day to day basis? Have you asked a doctor about this yet? Are you lactose intolerant? Do you eat a lot of veggies? Raw veggies?
If you're not having any other symptoms, it sounds like it could just be trapped gas and anxiety. Tell us more.

lately every day. i do eat veggies but not that much. a doctor told me i had IBS before because i complained about pain. there was no test done. it seemed he just rushed the visit. i am not lactose intolerent. thanks for the comments.

Do you actually feel a lump there or have a protrusion? "Bloating" that's localized to a very small spot like that could be a hernia. Sometimes hernias can sort of come and go as you and your intestines move around. They can also cause bowel problems because of the strangulation of part of the intestines.

Also, you can't say that it's not your appendix because the pain is a bit lower than your actual appendix; pain has a very bad tendency to radiate to other parts of the body. I lived with a bad gall bladder for 5 years because my pain was across my diaphram, not exclusively on my right side where my gall bladder was located.

I would suggest at least getting an ultrasound of that area to check for hernia(s) and appendix problems. It's also possible for people to develop kinks in their intestines. I think people that this happens to are born with said problem, but the actual kink it can come and go. My grandmother's doctor thinks she has this problem and that's why she has, throughout her life, had bowel problems and pain, and then had nothing wrong with her for a long time.
