I too have hemmies. I have had them since having my kids 20 years ago, but they didnt seem to become a real problem until the IBS-D decided to rear it's ugly head after prolonged antibiotic use.....anyway, I had bleeding and went to the doc (twice) who said hemmies...keep your stools soft...no worries there, w/D they're soft! So I tried prep H but it didnt seem to help..in fact, they got worse. Then after looking it up online I learned that talcum powder can help. I tried it and it worked. I have had no bleeding for 6 months now, and my discomfort is minimal. I use (Gold Bond Ultimate Comfort with Aloe---talc free--the talc brands made me itch)
I have to say that I have also been managing my IBS as well; and reduced the D episodes considerably. I am now gluten, dairy and soy free; and take an anxiety med everyday, pepcid AC, probiotics, and lactose defense w/probiotics (in case I accidentally eat dairy). Things are much better, but I still obsess over the hemmies and my bowl movements.
I hope this helps.
