Hello,
I have had IBS for several years and by avoiding the foods that upset my system most of the time I do ok. I have noticed in the last couple of months I have spells that seem to last about a week. When the first bad day of D hits I usually cut back on food and just make sure to intake plenty of liquids. After giving my system a break I will eat small meals several times a day. I usually still have D and I am almost always hungry after I do. I don't want to eat more because I am sure I will have to go and, as we all know it isn't always convenient. Last Tuesay I actually came home from work because I had such bad D and cramping. I went back to work the next day but just had some toast in the morning and came home for lunch. Since then I still have D and today I met friends at the mall who wanted to have lunch, I couldn't really say no so I just ordered a baked potato. I made it home before ending up in the bathroom. I was telling my mom that I thought it was strange that my system would still be acting up 6 days later and I wondered if it was because I wasn't eating enough. My stomach doesn't usually bother me when I eat it just starts the bathroom running. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? My mom suggested I talk to my doctor and I will but wanted to ask here, everyone here has more experience than most doctors I know
Thanks,
MIwoman
