How long does Miralax take to work?

Last night I took a second dose and nothing has happen yet.  I was hoping for some relief yesterday but nothing happened.

Can you take more than the one dose per day?

Miralax is not designed to work work right away. It normally takes a few days to kick in but can in as soon as the second day. I would not recommend upping the recomended dose without consulting your doctor. Laxatives must be used with extreme caution as they can upset your electrolyte balance. If you are looking for a quick fix and you will be home all day, you may want to try a fleet enema or OTC prep kit. A Dulcolax usually will work within the day but it is a stimulant laxative so you may have a bit of cramping.

Thanks for the info...I actually got a little relief before me workout this morning...Feels a little less uncomfortable and will take a few more days to get full relief.

Glad to hear its working. I have been taking it for over 2 years now (under doctor's supervision - not designed to take long term) and I feel so much better. Between that and my fiber, I'm not sure what it is but the combination works wonders for me. I still get the occasional problems here and there but I have to say that its so much better.
