The main problem with the virtual is that you still have to do the whole cleanout and then if they see any polyps or anything out of the norm you have to have a regular colonoscopy. It has been around for a number of years now but it just hasn't become mainstream here in the US. I am not sure it is even covered under most insurance plans though it may be. I personally don't know anyone that has had it. I was thinking about
it originally but thought I best have the regular one done and since I had polyps I have to have it repeated every two years. Hopefully this year they won't find any but not much chance of that.
