Enemas- How many times a week can you take them?

Enemas- How many times a week can you take them? And if you take them frequently will they stop working?

I certainly would not take on a regular basis. It won't hurt if you don't go every day and after a while you will rely on them. You need to find the reason you are not going. It is a short term and possible dangerous fix.

I agree with Canyon. Enemas are like laxatives in a way that they can become addictive or you can end up on relying on them. Its important that you only use these as a last resort and not on a maintenance basis. There are other safer options like Miralax or the occasional stool softener which is milder but those too have to be used in moderation. Have you seen your doctor about your constipation issues?

I think it won't stop working. However, over time frequent enemas can impair the natural muscle action of the intestines, leaving them unable to function normally.
