Librax and bloating and constipation-HELP!!!!

I take Librax 2 pills four times a day.  And I have severe problems with bloating and constipation.  Does anyone take this much Librax a day? And does the bloating and constipation go away?  I'm already taking laxatives and stool softeners but it doesn't always work.  Any advice?  And I also still have pain on and off.  My doctor doesn't want to give me anymore medication for the pain he said the Librax should do the job but he doesn't have to live my life in pain.  Any suggestions.  Please everyone give me some feedback I need some guidance and I'm newly diagnosed with IBS and don't know what to do.  And I have no appetite.  I have to force myself to eat.  Please help.

 

I'm not sure why your doc is giving you so much Librax knowing that you have severe constipation. I think it may be time to find a new doc IMO. Librax is like any antispasmodic in that the purpose of it is to relax the contractions of the colon. Contractions are your body's natural way of moving the waste along, with so much Librax you are basically stopping your colon in its tracks which will cause your stool from moving along. By taking laxatives, you are reversing the effects which is not getting you anywhere. Please talk to your doc about this and let us know how it goes for you.

Hi all. I have chronic Lyme, and recently I have been having some pretty intense stomach issues. I have had most of the tests to rule out anything really serious in my abdominal. My LYME doctor believes that the pain/ cramping/ discomfort etc., is from the Lyme, and my GI believes I may have IBS. I have always had good steady bowel movements, but lately I have been dealing with some uncomfortable constipation-although I have also had some loose bowels on occasion as well(that usually happens after I take a good amount of CALM magnesium powder the night before). I tried Levsin, and it helped somewhat, and I am taking peppermint oil pills as well, and have added fiber to my diet, but I still am getting cramps. My GI has given me a prescription for Librax and I took one the other night-I believe it helped calm down my spasms, but I felt kind of wired throughout the night-kind off zombie like, but with strange thoughts and visions. I am contemplating trying it again this morning, as my stomach discomfort/cramping pain is back, but I am concerned about the possible side effects of the drug. I would welcome any thoughts at all regarding this subject.
