stomachs hot can anyone help plz

im new in this forum i was in the gerds forum.nobody can help me there  and my doctor said that i have ibs now.so i was wondering if any body here might know why my stomach gets hot to the touch.down to my belt line up to my chest and around to my back.gets real hot i have to put a cold rag on it to cool it down some times that works and some times not it will last for days then it goes away for three days and comes back and keep me up 6 hours or more.till the rag cools it down again .i have a bad disc in my back so i took darvocett 650-100 for 14 months 3 to 5 aday then i started having this hot stomach every time i would take a darvocett.so i stopped over two months ago also i have pains and rumbleing in there too.more so after i eat so i had an uper gi last week and the doctor said i look normal. i ask why am i having this pain and hot stomach he said you probly have ibs.and told me to stay on my meds traumadol 50 mg 2 to 3 day and 2 nexium 40 mg in the moring and 2 at night.that helps.with the pain in my stomach.but not the burning and hot tummy if i try to stop the meds after i eat i have the runs and sit on the pot.a half hour later i have to go sit on the pot again every time i eat but if i stay on my med im fiine all but the hot tummy  and i dont want to stay on the pain meds i want off.can any body help me please.Rick

I doubt this is of any use atall ... I can't relate to the burning stomach but I get it alot with my face ... and boy does it blaze! I've just recently worked out that mine is probably the result of an allergic reaction to food or medication. You said it started after you started taking the darvocett so is there possibly a connection there with meds or certain ingredients they contain? All I too can do is use the cold rag method ... which also sometimes works, or atleast helps or I just have to sit tight and wait for the discomfort to pass ... and yep, can take days. Trying to look for a pattern to the flare ups could help get to the route of the trigger but I know that is easier said than done especially when taking your meds is unavoidable.

i have been on darvocett for over a year .and had no problems till three months ago and every time i would take a darvocett my stomach would flare up so i stopped takening the darvocett.but when i did the pain was terrible and then the burning wouldnt stop.its like now i have a hole in my stomach from taking the darvocett and the acid is eating right through it my stomach the buring is killing me .and so is the pain in side.and it rumbles.i have a doctors appointment this thursday and i will see what he says i think he will send me in for a test on my gallbladder.thanks .Rick

Hey Rick,

While an ultrasound of your abdomen sounds like a good idea (which is the test they use to check for gallstones), you might also ask about an upper endoscopy.  A scope is inserted down through your esophagus, into your stomach, and into to the first portion of your small intestine.  They can check for ulcerations, inflammation, erosions, etc.  If you have adequate health insurance you may ask about getting such a test to check on the health of your upper intestinal tract.

i had an upper gi last thursday 10-11-07 the doctor said everything looks good all normal.thats when i ask him what is causeing the pain and the hot stomach he said ibs and wants me to have .my gallbladder check .i have another doctors appointment tommorow the 18th .i will let you know what the doctor says.thanks for your concern every body.Rick
