prednisone

i was diagnosed with the kidney disease fsgs 1 year ago and was immediately put on 100 mgs. of prednisone per day. after 4 months and my wife telling them that i was impossible to live with i was lowered to 75 mgs. per day. eventually after 9 months i was taken off it completely, using the proper weaning doses, but now even after 3 months of not being on it i have awful joint pain. anyone know how long this lasts or if it is a side effect at all?

Same thing happens to me. It is like a love hate relationship. I hate the side effects of the steroids but it keeps the inflammation to a minimum. Can you take a lower maintanance dose? When I am flaring I take a daily 10 MG dose and it does the trick. Good luck

It is something that deffinatly warrents a call to your doctor to let them know you are experiencing this! Sorry your joints are hurting and I hope they feel better! I agree with Elizabeth, maybe a lower maintanance dose would help? Maybe even just a few mg! Let us know what the doc says :)
