Hi everyone,
I have had kidney pain on and off for 3 years roughly. This time I have had constant pain for 3 weeks.
I have had blood and urine samples taken which have both come back clear :S I went for an Ultrasound yesterday and they said they couldn't see any stones? I am constantly thirsty and I am drinking around 12-15 glasses of water a day! I have been sick most days with the pain.
I was getting nowhere with my GP so I went to an Out of hours doctor who said i had a kidney infection, I finished my antibiotics yesterday and still feel the same. My own GP had given me diclofenac, diazapam and codiene all to which had no effect on the pain.
When I do go to the toilet literally have to force the wee out, I am also having to got to the toilet several times at night.
Has anyone got any ideas what i can do? Or what it could be?

Hello mumtoleah..... I have much of the same symptoms and have had no answers ..... my main complaints are trouble urinating... it comes and goes... sometimes I can pee just fine... then I'll go a few weeks where I literally have to bend over and really push to get just a dribble. Its very frustrating... I have pain in my left flank , sometimes having to take codeine and aspirin which barely touches the pain.... moving and walking make it worse .... I've just had an ultrasound of my bladder which turned up nothing... and had an ultrasound of my kidneys about 2 weeks ago... I was expecting the doctor to call me and say , hey we found something ... but haven't heard a peep from anyone. ....
Its very frustrating and a bit scarry ... my imagination does wonderful things with undiagnosed pains. I'm newly diagnosed diabetic , so wonder if that has anything to do with it?
Anyway.... good luck to you dear heart .... hope you get answers soon ... p.s. have you been checked for diabetes... you're drinking an awful lot of water... when I was thirsty like that and sleeping all the time , they discovered I had diabetes.... now if they could just tell me what is happening with my kidney I'd be very happy.

I am now into my 8th week of agony i have had codiene, diclofenac and diazepam and nothing takes the pain away. I have been checked for diabetes which came back negative. I have since seen the urologist who did a bladder scan to find that i have urinary retention and i have also had IVU which i am waiting for the results from.

Hey yall, hope u all had a good weekend. I too am having to bend over to pee. Nearly the same time I went to pc and she found sugar in urine, count just under 500. I now take 10mg twice a day. Still cant get a reading less than 250. I took antibiotic for few days until my pc doc. office called to say my urine was fine, no infection so stop taking antibiotic...........the reason i went to doc was because one nite a week before I waked up with terrible low pelvic pain down low and all the way across. I like to have never made it to bathroom. Finally after at least8 to 10 minutes, finely using warm water and just moving fingers over pubic area made me finaly pass urine, then NO PAIN anymore. Ever since then I have to bend over to clear my bladder and tho I can pee when I first sit down, I will bend over and can still pee more than I did at first. When that happened I was so surprised and wondered if I passed a stone that nite. Then, difficult to urinate ever since them..If anyone has had similair circumstance? I am afraid that I have major kidney problems. I see doc next monday....thanks for reading....Cathy

Hi

Mumtoleah please can you tell me if you are still suffering or if not what it turned out to be and if any medication fixed or helped.

I have the exact same symptoms going on nearly 3 months every test that the doctors have done come back clear urine, blood and swobs. I am at my wits end I have had 4 antibiotics and numerous pain killers nothing helps.

Welcome to Healing Well.

Unfortunately the OP hasn't posted since 2012.

When I get stones I have pains around the kidney and in lower groin area. I also have trouble urinating. I have never had blood show up when I have a stone either. I am not able to pass even small stones though.
