Shattering kidney stones

All of my stones were broken up with a laser and air. I haven't had one done with the sound waves yet. My father in law has and said he felt soreness like a deep bruise for a few days and his was the size of a buck eye.

Passing the fragments is hard to say because it depends on how inflamed things are and how large the fragments are. I had to have a couple other procedures to remove pieces of the stones that wouldn't pass, but I can't pass anything 4mm or larger.

Yikes that a good size kidney stone... UR doc is great with recommending lithotripsy.
Yes , my son had his kidney stones blasted away. It is jolting but painless as he was a bit sore.
A lot easier than the alternative. As a year earlier a stone caught in his urethra was unimaginably painful, & more costly in the ER than the procedure to blast them with sound waves into small sand grains sizes to pass thru the urethra in peace.
